Just know, none of my post was meant to be in that sort of fashion. The bottom line is, as I've stated before, the R&D work on our cars probably stopped in the early 90's. We were stuck with the restrictive exhaust manifolds for years, and many believed that they were good until you got to a certain power level. At that point, you had to shell out huge bucks for some custom made manifolds--pretty much out of reach for the street enthusiast like myself. We now have 2 cast iron manifolds to select from. Can you wait, or do you want a set sooner? When I read that Mike Smith was developing some exhaust manifolds and that the cost was going to be in the $1000 range, hope was on the horizon. But, a rebuild for me at the time was not on my mind. When I realized a rebuild was emminent, Mike Smith still had not released his manifolds except to a few guys I suppose. Sort of the same circumstance now with Jon Abeler, except that I have a set in person. I'm sure they're just as nice in person as the MS mani's are. I just don't recall seeing any up close pix of them other than the CAD drawings. Do you have any? I've been on this forum since 1997 and theoretically I should be one of the 'elitest' here. But, I don't consider myself as someone who follows the straightest of paths for building my car. I don't use JWT everything, I don't use Stillen everything, etc., etc. So, when I see someone building a set of manifolds that is virtually unknown to this forum, it doesn't bother me one bit. The point here, is that I tend to go against the grain with my idears. Does Jon know about mass production or marketing? I dunno, he needs to explain. Do I know anything about it? Not one bit--except that it's expensive, but there can be a huge return. Am I Jon's messenger? No, he posts on this board himself. Am I trying to spread the message of alternative manifolds? Yes, probably so. Just as you are doing, too. We get pretty excited over such material things sometimes...:)
